Message from our President!

South Dakota Chapter of HIMSS Members,

Once again, we’ve arrived at the doorstep of November and are preparing to turn our clocks back, gaining another hour of sleep. The upcoming weekend reminds me that we’ve had a relatively nice Fall season, although unseasonably rainy. And, in spite of that, the leaves have endured and hung on, displaying a fabulous colorful panorama until just recently.

As we entered the season of Fall, it is a reminder of that time of year when we recognize and celebrate National Health IT week. National Health HIT week was October 8th -12th. This year we are pleased to share photos from some of our SDHIMSS members and Organizational Affiliates celebrating this event by bringing some of their members together for a photo op. At Brookings Health, Information Technology held a fun and challenging contest, with the winner receiving a fabulous prize! Sanford Health gathered members for a picture and used the week as an opportunity to promote SDHIMSS. Check out the News & Publications tab on this site, and click on the NHIT Week link to see these photos.

There are some upcoming regional events to check out on the Events Calendar as well, and consider planning to attend.
