National Health IT Week
South Dakota HIMSS will join other organizations around the country in celebrating National Health Information Technology Week, September 15-19th. Nonprofit organizations, suppliers, healthcare facilities, congressional leaders, state and local officials, and other stakeholders are joining together to bring attention to the role of healthcare IT in improving healthcare delivery.
Health information technology improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety, decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcare providers.
To mark the important role health information technology plays in improving healthcare delivery in America, South Dakota HIMSS wants to thank the staff and partners of the Clinical Engineering, Clinic Informatics, Health Information Management, IT Technical Services, and IT Software Services departments for their active role in supporting our employees, providers, and other associates as we move forward with several information technology initiatives. We’ll be posting daily tidbits to our social media accounts to help celebrate and bring awareness to the HIT field.
SDHIMSS would like to know how your facility is recognizing the week! Please share any notes or photos to Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. The official hashtag for the event on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ is #NHITweek.
